FallFestival

A BEAUTIFUL DAY, LOTS OF VISITORS, and A FEW CHALLENGES! Our 2017 Fall Festival was held on the church and Teays Manor grounds, Sunday, October 1, from 4:00 and ended with a campfire at 7:00. Around 200 visitors enjoyed the many activities, with making slime, painting rocks, face painting, the cupcake walk and hay ride proving very popular. Jumping in the Jupiter Jump, loving on the adoptable pets from the Putnam County Animal Shelter, snapping photos at the photo booth, and competing in the youth games and corn hole added lots more fun to the day!

Yummy hot dogs, bags of chips and cool drinks “hit the spot” after all the activities. Everyone enjoyed all the tasty treats and smiling faces grilling and serving the food and the beautiful picnic area, complete with a pile of leaves! It is not a Fall gathering without a campfire, and our Boy Scout troop built a fire and offered help making s’mores for dessert!

Our planned entertainment, Joey Stepp, was sick and unable to come and perform. With the large crowd and some late arrivals, the volunteers for the activities worked a little longer so everyone was given a chance to enjoy the many activities. Also, the TV Fire Department was not able to attend, which actually helped… We needed all those parking places!

Our Praise Band provided musical enjoyment during the picnic time, and Pastor Kyle had a message for everyone (though his table was swarmed by the children) sharing how a carved jack o’ lantern reminds us that God has made each of us to be unique and special, and we are to share our “light” with everyone!

This is truly a church-wide activity with so many volunteers and helpers. It certainly could not be accomplished without all the help! It seems the community has responded to our outreach, with the large attendance and appreciation for the free fun, food, and opportunities for fellowship with their families and friends.
